Biography
George Webster, 28, graduate entry medical student at the University of Warwick became The BMJ editorial scholar in July 2024. They were president of WMS PRIDE, the Warwick LGBTQ+ medics network and have been working over the past two years as an inclusive education intern, creating and delivering equity, diversity, and justice training to students and faculty. George supported several projects on topics around health equity for minority communities. In particular, the importance of understanding the impact of systemic racism as well as the need for LGBTQ+ inclusion in the medical curriculum. They are excited to gain experience of editing articles and hosting the Sharp Scratch podcast, continuing on from the great work of the team last year.
