Prevention in primary care: more of the same is not the answer

“Prevention bombshell” would have been a good cover line for The BMJ issue that included Martin and colleagues’ article1—a mushrooming cloud would be an effective representation of the unthinking creep of preventive interventions on primary care that has led to a general practitioner having to work 26.7 hours a day to fulfil their commitment.
