John Piers Recordon

Piers Recordon was born in 1936. In 1961 he qualified from St John’s College, Cambridge, which he loved, and Barts, on which he was less keen. He met his wife, Gill, while doing house jobs; they married shortly afterwards and the couple then moved to Nigeria where Piers had a post at University College Hospital in Ibadan. After this, Piers and Gill spent nine months travelling around Africa.
