Another day, another tax, right?
Well, not exactly. While the media may be calling this a “meat tax,” there’s no government policy on taxing meat . . . yet.
So people are hamming up the story?
The stories relate to a paper in PLOS One that reported the optimal level of taxation needed, in 149 world regions, to offset the theoretical healthcare costs of eating red meat and processed meat.1
